March 2024 Happenings in New Hampshire

5 Must-Attend Events for People of All Interests and Ages

Orchid Show

Along with the arrival of spring, some of my favorite annual events, and my birthday — March brings a flurry of exciting happenings that celebrate the spirit of New Hampshire. So let’s take a look at the five I’m most looking forward to.

1. NH Orchid Show

Kicking off the month, the New Hampshire Orchid Show, for me, is a must-attend event. I love it because it offers a chance to enjoy some vibrant colors and warm, humid air in the middle of the state’s long winter. So from March first to third, you can head over to the Courtyard by Marriott in Nashua to admire beautiful blooms, learn about orchid care, and maybe even take home a new addition for your own home.

2. CHaD Battle of the Badges

Then, on March 10th is another event that’s close to my heart, and that is the always highly anticipated CHaD Battle of the Badges hockey game, held at the SNHU Arena in Manchester. This annual game features local firefighters and police officers going head to head in a battle for the trophy - all in support of the kids and families at Dartmouth Health and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth.

3. NH Maple Weekend

New Hampshire’s annual Maple Weekend will be on March 16-17 this year. Sugar houses all over the state will open their doors to visitors - offering tours, various snacks made with maple, live music, samples, and more. I plan to head over to the Trail Side Sugar House in Andover for their celebrations but there will be dozens of events in every corner of the state, all weekend, that you can check out.

4. Murder Mystery Dinner

Moving on, there will be a Las Vegas Casino Murder Mystery Dinner in Keene on March 23. These events always offer a unique and interactive way to spend a night out. Attendees will get to be the detective and try to solve the crime, as clues are given in between dinner courses. And there will also be a Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle to support the Montessori Schoolhouse.

5. The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes

And last but not least, there will be a screening of my favorite movie, The Princess Bride, with none other than Cary Elwes on March 30 at the Music Hall in Portsmouth. After watching the film, Cary will hold a moderated discussion for a for a behind-the-scenes look at life on and off the set.

So, there you have it, I hope you have the opportunity gather with your friends and family, and join the fun at some of these events happening in March. What other events are you looking forward to? Reach out!
